Local Screenings of Seed: The Untold Story Tonight & Tomorrow

Write the filmmakers: “On Sept  6th and 7th SEED: The Untold Story will have two special screenings for its Santa Rosa Premiere! Taggart Siegel, award-winning director of The Real Dirt on Farmer John and Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us? will return to the Bay Area for a Q&A following both screenings. Also joining both nights will be Emigdio Ballon, featured in SEED: The Untold Story. Emigdio is a Bolivian seed saver and  one of the most prominent driving forces behind the Tesuque Pueblo’s seed bank, which was built to house disappearing Native American seed varieties across the American Southwest. On Sept 6th Rowen White, also featured in SEED, will make a special appearance. Rowen is a Grass Valley seed saver, farmer and educator. Rowen is of Mohawk descent, and has developed the Sierra Seed Co-operative. She was recently elected the Board of Directors of Seed Savers Exchange, the world’s largest grassroots seed saving exchange in the US. Screening are playing in conjunction with the Heirloom Exposition which runs Sept 6-8.”
